Having completed the course student:
- has detailed and organized knowledge of literature and writings of Ethiopia, can name and characterize most important phenomena and literary texts of Ethiopia (K_W05)
- has organized knowledge of elements of history of Ethiopia (K_W06)
- has organized knowledge of elements of philosophy and religions of Ethiopia (K_W07)
- has extensive knowledge of Amharic language, its structure, history and script (K_W12)
- is aware of the complex nature of the Amharic language, its place and significance in the cultural and historical context of Ethiopia (K_W13)
- has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from Amharic into Polish (K_W15)
- demonstrates basic grasp of contemporary cultural life of Ethiopia (K_W16)
- can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of Ethiopian culture (press, social writing) and appropriately place them in their cultural context (K_U06)
- can compare and perceive interrelations between chosen literary texts and other works of Ethiopian culture (press, social writing) and the issues within the scope of tradition and modern times (K_U07)
- reads texts in Amharic at the intermediate level (K_U12)
- can analyze and interpret source texts in Amharic (K_U13)
- can translate literary texts and writings from Amharic into Polish (K_U14)
- interprets key terms of Ethiopian culture through philological analysis (K_U15)
- fluently uses the Ethiopian script and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, linguistic corpora, data bases, etc.) (K_U16)
- uses electronic and internet tools both in Polish and Amharic languages (K_U24)
- cooperates and works on text analysis in a group as well as forges relationships and builds social relations (K_K02)
- cooperates with representatives of other cultures, proving deep understanding of chosen similarities and differences between one’s own culture and that of Ethiopian people (K_K03)
