Reading African texts 3600-7-AF2-LTA(Z)
The course is devoted to the reading and analysing of chosen texts in an African language (Swahili, Hausa, Amharic), as well as to their translation into Polish. The course aims at developing the students' language skills as well as to deepen their knowledge of Ethiopian culture and literature.

Learning outcomes
Having completed the course student:
- has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from the selected African language into Polish (K_W15)
- can analyze and interpret source texts in the selected African language (K_U13)
- can translate literary texts and writings from the selected African language into Polish (K_U14)
- understands the need to learn all one’s life, can inspire and organize other people’s process of learning (K_K01)
- can actively cooperate and work in a group as well as forge relationships and build social relations (K_K02)
Assessment criteria
- attendance control - only students who were present at minimum 50% of classes can pass
- continuous assessment
- final assessment
