After completion of this course a student:

KNOWLEDGE:

has in-depth and detailed knowledge (including terminology, theory and methodology) in literary studies or linguistic studies or philosophy and religion studies or history [K_W01];
has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of Korea (within the scope of culture and literature or language or philosophy and religion or history and socio-political issues) in a comparative perspective [K_W02];
has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the culture of Korean Peninsula (within the scope of culture and literature or language or philosophy and religion or history and socio-political issues) [K_W03];
has extended and deepened knowledge of the language of Korean Peninsula [K_W04];
has detailed knowledge pertaining to the state of research on chosen issues related to Korea as well as in-depth knowledge of research centres in Poland and all over the world [K_W05];
knows and understands advanced analysis and interpretation methods of various products of culture in Korea, characteristic of chosen traditions, theories, research schools within the scope of linguistics or literary and cultural studies or philosophy and religion studies or history [K_W06];
knows and understands the local academic tradition (methods of analysis, interpretation and evaluation) in the context of Korea [K_W07];
demonstrates good grasp of contemporary cultural life of Korea [K_W08];
has wide and profound knowledge of the structures and social relations as well as socio-cultural behaviours of Korea in the scope conditioning professional social and intercultural verbal communication [K_W10];
knows and understands the rules of copyright and intellectual property management [K_W11];

SKILLS:

can search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources and can form critical judgement on its basis [K_U01];
can indicate sources of cultural differences between the countries of the Far East (Korea, China, Japan), also on the basis of source materials [K_U02];
can acquire knowledge independently and enhance research skills as well as develop abilities to build a professional career [K_U03];
can use the knowledge in the field of Korean studies to expand knowledge of humanities [K_U04];
can use the knowledge in the field of Korean studies to solve problems relating to cultural differences in professional situations [K_U05];
can use the terminology from the domain of philosophy and religion of Korea to analyze and interpret religious phenomena, ethical motives and human behaviours, as well as cultural differences [K_U06];
can detect relationship between the development of philosophical and religious ideas of Korea and social, cultural and economic processes [K_U07];
can read, analyze and interpret advanced literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Korea and appropriately place them in their cultural context [K_U08];

can carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different products of culture of Korea in a way which is appropriate to a chosen tradition, theory and research school within the scope of linguistics or literary and cultural studies or philosophy and religion studies or history, employing unique approaches that take into account the knowledge in the field of Korean studies [K_U10];
can analyze most important phenomena in the area of history, socio-political, linguistic or cultural situation of Korea [K_U11];
can evaluate, select and explain most important products of contemporary culture in Korea [K_U12];
has a good command of a foreign language at least at the B2+ level [K_U14];
can behave in an appropriate way, react verbally and mediate in communication and negotiations in a chosen socio-cultural context of Korea [K_U16];
can choose and formulate a subject of an MA thesis, select and find sources in Korean language, make references to a range of theoretical approaches and other sources [K_U17];
has superior skill at presenting detailed aspects within the scope of cultural issues of Korea in Polish and in Korean language taking into consideration the intellectual tradition of Korean Peninsula [K_U18];
has superior skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in Korean language [K_U19];
has superior skill in substantive argumentation with the use of other authors’ views [K_U20];
can expertly use advanced electronic and internet tools in Polish and in Korean language [K_U21];
