Japanese Language 3600-5-JA3-JJKT2
Continuation of the second year's programme. Students will learn various idiomatic expressions, structures of more complex sentences, dictation and rapid reading in Japanese.
In the class, students will be required
- to discuss everyday life and social problems of modern Japan, including relationship between men and women, a marriage, a family, gender roles and their changes in the modern society, education system, Japanese cuisine and so on.
- to expand vocabulary using additional materials from various Japanese textbooks, press and the Internet provided by the teacher.
- to learn diverse writing styles and use of Japanese through materials such as newspaper articles, exercises from workbooks.
- to write a report or an essay at home
Errors of submitted paper will be corrected by the teacher.
Assignments should be written on genkōyōshi paper meeting the deadline.

Knowledge:

has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from a Japanese into Polish [K_W15]

-has a good command of Japanese language at the level depending on specialty [K_U12]
-can analyze and interpret source texts in Japanese [K_U13]
-can properly function in the linguistic and cultural environment of Japan [K_U17]
-has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and Japanese [K_U22]
-can use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and Japanese [K_U24]
Social kompetences
-understands the need to learn all one’s life [K_K01]
-can cooperate and work in a group as well as forge relationships and build social relations [K_K01]
Assessment criteria
Students will be evaluated by
- sufficient attendance
- preparation for the class and assertive participation
- midterm exam
- written exam in the end of the semester
- submission of essays
