Japanese Grammar 3600-5-JA2-WJJ
Based on the textbook Chūkyū Nihongo, edited by the University of Foreign Languages in Tokyo, the lecture is concentrated on unconjugated parts of speech – nouns, pronouns, numerals, adverbs etc. One of the most important subjects are so called keishiki – meishi (“formal nouns”), like koto, mono, tokoro and other ones. They play an important part in sentence structures. The lecture also includes more advanced forms of honorific and humble expressions; more complex, multilevel sentences. Finally it introduces and explains some abbreviations and inversions that can be seen in spoken language.
Exercises are based on the material of the textbook – various types of sentences and expressions.
