Knowledge

Skills
- can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and / or other works of cultural creativity (film, press, social writing) correctly placing them in a cultural context, average level (K_U06, H1A_U05);
- knows how to compare and see the dependencies between selected literary texts and / or other works of cultural creativity (film, press, social writing), and the issues of tradition and the present, the sub-level (K_U07, H1A_U05);
- speaks Chinese at the level determined depending on the specialty, advanced level (K_U12, H1A_U09, H1A_U10);
- can analyze and interpret Chinese source texts, advanced level (K_U13, H1A_U09, H1A_U10);
- can translate literary texts / writings from Chinese into Polish, advanced level (K_U14, H1A_U09, H1A_U10);
- can interpret key concepts of Chinese culture through linguistic / philological analysis, advanced level (K_U15, H1A_U08

- is able to fluently use the writing system and the tools used to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, language corpora, databases, etc.), advanced level (K_U16, H1A_U09

- can use electronic and internet tools in Polish and Chinese, medium level (K_U24, H1A_U07).
Social competence
- can cooperate and work in a group as well as establish contacts and build social relations, average level (K_K02, H1A_K02); - can establish contacts and interact with representatives of different cultures, medium level (K_K03, H1A_K02).

Attendance in class is mandatory. A maximum of two unexcused absences is allowed.

The final grade for the course is based on a written exam at the end of the term (60%) and class participation (40%).

1) The end-of-term exam takes place during the final class session and consists of a written translation. During the exam, students translate two previously unseen texts that have been prepared using vocabulary and grammatical structures covered throughout the course. Therefore, students are expected to master the vocabulary well enough to translate the prepared text without using any dictionaries (physical or electronic) or any other aids.

2) Active participation in class is also required, including prior preparation of the vocabulary and engagement in the translation of texts.
