Selected issues from the art and aesthetics of China 3600-19-SIW2-WZSC
The classes will be devoted to prehistoric art, ancient art (including bronzes, jade sculpture, lacquerware), funerary art of imperial China (especially that of the Han and Tang), history of ceramics and porcelain, history of handcraft (in other media), religious art (especially monumental Buddhist sculpture), architecture (including history of parks and gardens) and folk art.

It is understood that after the conclusion of the course, students will have a general knowledge of the main genres in Chinese art and their history, and will know how to appreciate pieces of Chinese art.

Granted credit based on participation in the classes.
