Korean language and culture - listening comprehension 3600-19-KOW2-JiKR(L)
After completing this subject, the student should demonstrate the ability to listen, speak, write and read the language Korean at the intermediate level.
Classes as part of a university course for practical learning of Korean at an intermediate level. Classes focused mainly on expanding vocabulary and the ability to understand spoken texts based on as many language exercises as possible. Consolidating communication skills in the field of listening with understanding and speaking, taking into account vocabulary and general topics. Introduction of simple contemporary media language texts. Further development of the ability to formulate moderately complex static descriptions (objects, people,
environment) and dynamic (activities, states and situations). Introducing elements of colloquial language and phrases
courtesy words.

After completing the course student:
KNOWLEDGE:
- has extensive knowledge of Korean language (its structure, history, script) [K_W12];
- is aware of the complex nature of Korean language, its place and significance in the cultural and historical context of Korean Peninsula
[K_W13];
- is aware of the linguistic variety and its influence on the cultural and political
situation of the world [K_W14];
- has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from Korean into Polish [K_W15].
SKILLS:
- can read, analyse and interpret literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Korea and appropriately place them
in their cultural context [K_U06];
- can use the knowledge of socio-cultural issues of Korea in typical professional
situations [K_U09];
- has a good command of Korean at the level B1 [K_U12];
- can analyse and interpret source texts in Korean language [K_U13];
- can translate literary texts and writings from Korean language into Polish [K_U14];
- can interpret key terms from Korean culture through linguistic/philological analysis [K_U15];
- can fluently use the script of Korean language and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries,
lexicons, linguistic corpora, data bases, etc.) [K_U16];
- can properly function in the linguistic and cultural environment of Korea [K_U17];
- has a skill in presenting detailed aspects within the scope of cultural issues of Korea in Polish and in Korean language taking into
consideration the intellectual tradition of Korea [K_U21];
- has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in Korean language [K_U22];
- can use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and in Korean language [K_U24].

The evaluation will take into account:
- attendance
- ongoing preparation for classes and active participation in classes
- written tests carried out regularly during the semester
- final written exam
