EU: new directions of integration 3500-FAKM-UENGP
The seminar will be focused on the significance of East/West and South/North divisions. We will approach tke following questions: To what extent are these divisions and borders a legacy of the past, and to what extent are they a reality created here and now? Are they rooted in genuine economic or cultural divergences, or rather generated on the discursive level? And last not least, is the "return" of theirs a sign of the crisis of integration, or rather of its new dynamisms?
Poland, Hungary and Greece will serve as examples to discuss the problems and pitfalls of INTEGRATION. We will look at the (new?) meanings borders on the example of multiculturalism, security and terrorism.
