(in Polish) Subkultury młodzieżowe i polityka 3500-FAKM-SUB
The subject will focus on the analysis of the politics of youth subcultures in the 20th and 21st centuries. The problem of unconventional political participation of youth will be addressed. The issues of the macro-social scope of the main subcultures, their correlation with the cleaveges of socio-political divisions, the left-right dyad, political ideologies and functions in major conflicts of various societies and connections with social movements and protests will be taken into account. The potential and effects of subculture activity in the context of modernization processes will be analyzed. The processes of evolution from counterculture through alternative culture to a movement capable of internalizing political ideologies will be explicated. The subject of the analysis will be the political content of popular music. The subject of the analysis will also be the processes of political radicalization and political violence. The final object of exploration will be the issue of post-subcultures and identity politics.
