Introduction to social network analysis in social media 3500-FAKL-WAS
During the course, students will learn the basics of network theory and the methods of network analysis. In the first part of the course basic network concepts will be introduced together with an overview of possible applications of network analysis. The students will learn how to measure global network characteristics (structure, information flow properties) as well as characteristics of individual nodes (centrality of a node in the flow information). The second part of the course will acquaint students with examples of applications of network analysis, in particular within the social sciences
