Crime and criminal policy in Poland 3401-SEML-PKPd
The leading topic of the seminar are issues related to crime and the criminal policy implemented in Poland - both in the legal and criminological perspective.
The participants of the seminar will analyze important and current problems related to crime and the criminal policy implemented in Poland.
Taking into account the title of the seminar, bachelor's theses may concern various issues, e.g. (1) comparative analysis of the statistical and media image of crime, (2) the analysis of interactions between the mass media, criminality and the penal policy; (3) issues of two-pronged response to crime (prevention and combating), (4) issues related to the use of probation; (4) assessment of the legitimacy of legislative changes in the context of the level and dynamics of crime, (5) issues related to penal populism.
During the seminar, students will also learn how to properly write a bachelor's thesis (how to create a work plan, prepare a table of contents, edit footnotes, etc.).
The seminar participants will also learn the basic principles of copyright law (including the rules of conduct in the case of plagiarism) in relation to the BA thesis.
