The goal of the subject is to describe contemporary depiction of correctional education, its origin and evolution and some theoretical issues and practical solutions, including
- basic aspects of correctional education (the notion, tasks, principles, strategies and procedures, methods)
- changes in the approach towards correctional education
- penal code evolution and the notion of a criminal punishment
- contemporary correctional systems development origin and factors
- selected theoretical approaches in the contemporary correctional education and some diagnosis models and correctional process
- contemporary models of dealing with juveniles in Poland
- using punctual economy in correctional process
- diverse interaction theory and its implementing in the contemporary correctional process
- creative correction
- art-therapy and its implications in correctional practice
- correctional psychology
In the introduction part, after the recapitulation of the correctional education notion and its basic aspects, there is going to be presented evolution in the approach towards correctional education and a few models in the matter will be discussed. Next, there are going to be presented: origin, changes and penal code and punishment development factors as well as correctional process in the institutional conditions and contemporary correctional systems. There will also be presented selected theoretical approaches towards correctional process and relevant organizational forms both in Poland and in the world. To understand the idea of contemporary correctional process depiction more profoundly, there will be presented latest tendencies such as art-therapy, creative rehabilitation and correctional psychology.
There will be introduced group work as well as development of computer and multimedia skills, within the above, skills in creating multimedia presentations. During the process of looking for information about European solutions language skills, especially English and German, will be developed.

Knowledge
Having finished the process of learning, based on accumulated knowledge, a student:
• explains the origin and contemporary correctional depiction development factors
• distinguishes between classic (former) and contemporary approaches towards organizational forms of correctional education
• describes functioning mechanisms of the contemporary institutional and non-institutional solutions
• judge correctional interactions from the point of view of the contemporary world requirements and the needs and abilities of a ward
Skills
Having finished the process of learning, a student has the following skills:
• correctly assesses the currently solutions in social rehabilitation with the goals of correctional education
• interprets different currently legal solutions from the point of view of their correctional usefulness
prepare presentations including the usage of multimedia technologies

Having finished the process of learning, a student has the following personal and social competences:
• follows the ethical rules of correctional stuff and requirements of the modern world
• verifies activities of correctional education from point of View of modern society
• is aware of the need to change the system of correctional, welfare and aiding solutions
