Italian Culture and Society 3321-Z22F04
The course is dedicated to the cultural and socio-political reality of contemporary Italy. During the course many aspects regarding Italian society will be discussed, e.g. the differences between regions and the linguistic (dialectal) specificity of Italy; further on, the lessons will focus on a number of topics, such as politics and its influence on society, mass media (press and television) and various forms of popular culture (noir literature, comics, popular music etc.). The various topics and issues are all accompanied by an important recurring element: i.e., the social and cultural changes that have occurred in Italy over the past decades.
