Here come the cannibals: Italian literature at the eve of the new millennia 3321-M2S22MWL01

By focusing on the so-called cannibals – a group of (mostly young) authors with common interests in themes such as violence, sex, pornography and the likes – the course will give students an overview of the most recent transformations in the Italian literary panorama. This goal will be achieved by resorting to an interdisciplinary toolbox, and by following some of the “cannibals” from their literary debut to the present day. It will be done, concretely, by the means of a shared list of selected readings to be discussed in class.
