2nd Fenno-Ugrian Language Course I 3320-ZJUGRF34
BASIC COURSE FOR BEGINNERS: after the first semester (winter) the student reaches level A1, and after the second semester (summer) - level A2.
LEVEL A1: After a course at this level, the student, when spoken slowly and clearly, understands basic expressions about himself, his family, his immediate environment. In written text he understands familiar vocabulary, names and simple sentences. He is able to read information contained, for example, in advertisements, posters, catalogs. The student is able to communicate in a simple way, provided that the interlocutor is prepared to repeat the speech at a slower pace, and help formulate what he wants to say. He is able to ask and answer questions about topics of daily life, his own needs, familiar topics. Can use simple phrases and sentences to describe where he lives, where he comes from, and people he knows. Can write a short simple text, such as greetings from a vacation. Can fill out a form with personal information, nationality, occupation, address in, for example, a hotel registration form.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is able to talk about himself and his family, describe places and people, get information related to basic services. He also has knowledge of the basic grammatical structures of the Finnish language.
Knowledge: the graduate knows and understands
(K_W11) the place of hungaristics in the system of sciences and about its subject and methodological connections with other disciplines.
SKILLS : graduate is able to
(K_U11) speak a second Finno-Ugric language (Finnish/Estonian) at the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages enabling communication in basic life situations.
SOCIAL COMPETENCES: the graduate is ready to
(K_K06) care about preserving the cultural heritage of the studied region, country, Europe
Assessment criteria
Continuous evaluation (interim tests and selected homework).
