O curso descreve as relações mútuas de estudos sobre tradução nos contextos português e universal.
O tema do curso é uma revisão de trabalhos selecionados de autores de língua portuguesa dedicados a considerações de tradução, cuja discussão é um ponto de partida para uma reflexão mais ampla sobre traduções, questões interdisciplinares em tradução, natureza e função da tradução crítica e suas relações com teoria e prática tradutória. Durante o curso, os alunos aprendem sobre a história da arte da tradução, desde o seu nascimento até aos dias atuais. Será dada especial ênfase aos momentos mais importantes e significativos da arte da tradução, à percepção do tradutor em períodos específicos e à demonstração do contributo do pensamento ibérico para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa em tradução.

The course describes the mutual relations of translation studies in the Portuguese and universal contexts.
The theme of the course is a review of selected works by Portuguese-speaking authors dedicated to translation considerations, the discussion of which is a starting point for a broader reflection on translations, interdisciplinary issues in translation, the nature and function of critical translation and its relations with translation theory and practice. During the course, students learn about the history of the art of translation, from its birth to the present day. Special emphasis will be given to the most important and significant moments in the art of translation, the translator's perception in specific periods and the demonstration of the contribution of Iberian thought to the development of translation research.

O aluno conhece e compreende a especificidade peculiar e metodológica da tradução e relaciona-as com outros campos das ciências humanas e sociais, bem como com o contexto da língua portuguesa. Tem um conhecimento profundo das conexões entre novas pesquisas e tendências no campo dos estudos de tradução com outros discursos humanistas. Conhece a terminologia, teoria e metodologia no campo dos estudos de tradução no contexto ibérico e universal (K_W02; K_W04; K_W05; K_W06).
O aluno é capaz de usar as habilidades de pesquisa adquiridas no campo de estudos de tradução em análise crítica e avaliação de traduções em ordem PT-PT → PL / PT-BR → PL // PL → PT-PT / PL → PT-BR (K_U01; K_U03).
O aluno sabe discutir as questões dos estudos de tradução no grupo (K_U06).

The student knows and understands the specific and methodological aspects of translation and relates them to other fields of the humanities and social sciences, as well as to the context of the Portuguese language. He/she has a deep understanding of the connections between new research and trends in the field of translation studies and other humanistic discourses. He/she knows the terminology, theory and methodology in the field of translation studies in the Iberian and universal context (K_W02; K_W04; K_W05; K_W06).
The student is able to use the research skills acquired in the field of translation studies in critical analysis and evaluation of translations in the order PT-PT → PL / PT-BR → PL // PL → PT-PT / PL → PT-BR (K_U01; K_U03).
The student is able to discuss the issues of translation studies in the group (K_U06).
