Practical Portuguese workshops for philological aims II 3305-PNJP-CF2-1U
Portuguese language learning at the A1-A2 level is based on a very good knowledge of Spanish. After completing the course, students will understand expressions and vocabulary related to various areas of life (e.g., information about themselves and their family, shopping, the geography of their region, employment, social issues). They can grasp the meaning of short and long messages. They can read press releases. They can locate detailed information in everyday materials such as announcements, advertisements, brochures, menus, timetables, and personal letters, as well as in more complex press releases. They can communicate in everyday situations, manage social situations, maintain a conversation, and use a series of phrases and sentences to describe their family and other people, their living conditions, their education, their current and most recent job, and their future plans. They can write a message regarding matters related to urgent needs. They can write a personal letter, such as a thank-you note, an email, and a text message. They can also express themselves in writing on social issues. The course curriculum includes elements of cultural and real-world studies. It aims to equip students with the foundations necessary to use Portuguese for philological purposes.
During the course, the vocabulary and grammatical structures of Spanish and Portuguese are compared and contrasted, promoting faster learning, identifying differences, and avoiding potential errors.
Students are required to work individually and systematically at home and in class.
