Culture of Spain and Latin America Regions 3305-KRHAL-21
Studenci poznają podstawowe cechy charakterystyczne, które wyróżniają i stanowią tożsamość kulturową regionów Ameryki Łacińskiej, a także zasadnicze cechy kultury hiszpańskiej. This is extremely important, given the size of the area under study. Cultural regions rarely coincide with national borders here, although at the same time they contribute to the national identity of individual countries.
The subject matter of the classes is paramount for a proper analysis of the essence of artistic production and provides the necessary context.
The course covers the basic elements of geography, as the culture of Latin American regions is inextricably linked to the nature of these regions.
At the meta level, the course is particularly related to the subjects of Latin American Art and Cultural Animation. The course is also related to Latin American Literature, which reflects numerous cultural tropes characteristic of particular areas (e.g. the figure of the gaucho in Argentine literature), which are not always easy for students to identify.
This subject matter also provides the necessary knowledge for future work as a cultural animator focused on Latin American countries, in cultural institutions and in the tourism industry.
Classes are mainly synchronous, based on presentations of material by the lecturers, reading texts and discussions based on them during classes.
Some meetings will involve active listening to film material and answering questions prepared by the facilitators. This develops the ability to understand different versions of Spanish from Spain and Latin America and introduces specialist vocabulary related to the topics discussed.
