[Part "Contemporary Theories of Translation" led by Dr. Jakub Jankowski]

Discussion of various schools of translation theory with a focus on literary translation and fields that are developing dynamically at the moment (audio-visual translation, translation in a post-colonial context, translation in a gender context, etc.) in order to indicate to students possible directions of their own research.

Familiarization with texts and theoretical studies is intended to facilitate the selection of a thesis topic and to expand the scope of knowledge in the broad sense of translation studies.

This class serves to compose a thesis plan, collect a bibliography and briefly outline the content of individual chapters of the MA thesis.

2. Reading [continuous or interspersed with other readings] of the book The Map: A Beginner's Guide to Doing Research in Translation Studies by Jenny Williams, Andrew Chesterman + question sheets;

3. Reading [continuous or interspersed with other readings] of MA theses in the field of translation studies.
