Learning outcomes
The student knows and understands the basic terminology, subject matter, and research directions concerning the history of Spain in the 20th and early 21st centuries; the most important events and processes in Spanish history, as well as significant aspects of Spanish culture of this period (K_W03; K_W06). The student is able to read and comprehend texts related to the history and culture of Spain; present their own views and opinions, engage in discussion, and deliver prepared topics related to Spanish history; identify different types of historical texts, place them within the broader historical and cultural context, and carry out their analysis using basic terminology appropriate to the historical sciences; independently acquire knowledge and develop skills using relevant sources and historical studies (primary sources, monographic works, etc.); write and edit a written paper applying appropriate methods from the discipline of history; prepare oral presentations using suitable methods, including methodologies from the historical sciences and relevant sources; and employ basic theoretical approaches, research paradigms, and concepts appropriate to the discipline of history (K_U01; K_U02; K_U03; K_U04; K_U05; K_U06; K_U07).
The student is prepared to critically evaluate their own knowledge and skills and also understands the need for continuous improvement and development; for planning and organizing work, developing entrepreneurial skills, cooperating within a team, and adhering to professional ethics; for active participation in Spanish culture through various forms and media, and for working both in a team—assuming different roles—and autonomously; for monitoring contemporary processes and phenomena occurring in Spanish culture and historiography (K_K01; K_K02; K_K03; K_K04).
Assessment criteria
Attendance at classes is compulsory. Two unexcused absences are permitted. Class participation, homework (including reading assignments), and a multiple‑choice test at the end of the semester will be taken into account.
