Master’s Seminar: “I,” “You,” “We,” “You All” in Language and Discourse 3304-2D1W-SM-029
The seminar will focus on the analysis of discursive phenomena that form an integral part of utterances (from the perspective of the speaker), such as intention, linguistic subjectivity, the polyphonic nature of utterances, image construction, and the ‘projection’ of the image of the recipient or addressee of the message. Depending on the context and purpose of the utterance, the intensity of these phenomena varies, and the form of their realisation differs. Therefore, various discourse genres will be discussed, as they occur in different communicative situations (oral, written, formal and informal), according to semantic, syntactic and pragmatic criteria.
