Improving the ability to use French in writing by translating into French texts in Polish on
culture, current cultural events: newspaper articles, excerpts from books or catalogues
on painting, sculpture, music, architecture, current cultural events, art criticism.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student:
1. has in-depth morphosyntactic, orthographic, semantic, phonological and stylistic knowledge
in the field of French language;
2. knows detailed principles of analysis and interpretation of texts belonging to different styles
functional styles of the French language and various genres;
3. has extensive and well-established knowledge of the culture of Poland and France and of the French-speaking countries
French-speaking countries;
4. has the ability to adequately use translation strategies and procedures and efficiently
moves within the two cultures;
5. is able to use specialized dictionaries, terminology databases and derive
terminology from reading parallel texts.
6. is able to communicate using various communication channels and techniques with
specialists in the field of Romance philology in Polish and French and to popularize knowledge
about social and cultural phenomena, etc;
7. has active and passive linguistic competence in French at the C1/C2 level
according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in speaking and writing;
8. is able to correctly translate various genres of texts on cultural life
from Polish into French;
9. knows how to cooperate in a group, solve problems in discussion and initiate solutions appropriate to the situation;
10. is able to carry out mutual evaluation with respect for the dignity and feelings of group members;
11. is able to adopt an attitude of openness towards personal and cultural differences and has the ability to communicate in a multicultural environment;
12. is able to actively engage in participation in French and Francophone culture, using various media and forms;
13. has an understanding of contemporary processes and phenomena occurring in the cultural life of Europe.
The subject implements the following learning outcomes to varying degrees, among others:
Upon completion of the course, the student knows and understands:
K_W03 to a deeper degree the basic and complex processes occurring in language and literature in the countries of the French-speaking cultural area
K_W04 in a deeper degree tendencies, directions and research methodologies in the field of language and literature studies, especially in the countries of the French-speaking cultural area
K_W07 in a deeper degree the functions of language and the social and cultural aspects of its use in diverse, including atypical communication situations, including intercultural communication
K_W08, to a deeper degree grammatical, orthographic, lexical, semantic, phonological and stylistic issues in French and can apply them in translation
K_W09, to an in-depth degree, detailed principles of analysis and interpretation of texts belonging to different functional styles of the French language
graduate is able to:
K_U05, recognize, analyze to a deeper degree and interpret different types of cultural products (language, literature), using adequate and complex terminology and appropriate research methods and techniques
K_U09, communicate orally and in writing in French at level C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
K_U11, use the acquired knowledge and skills in depth in planning professional development
K_U13, apply complex information and communication techniques in the process of acquiring knowledge and communicating in the field of literature and linguistics
