Methodology of research in literary studies 3304-2D1O-MBWL-053
Classes relate to selected key methods in literary studies of recent decades. They serve to familiarise students with the conceptual tools and main ideas present in the latest literary studies and humanities. The aim is to give students the tools to deepen scientific work on literary texts and to write essays.

Learning outcomes
After completing the classes, the student:
1. knows at an advanced level the concepts and corresponding terms used to describe literature and understands their location in relation to other fields of the humanities (K_W01);
2. has in-depth knowledge of the methodology of literature research (K_W02);
3. has in-depth knowledge of the directions of research in literary studies and the latest achievements in these disciplines (K_W04);
4. has in-depth research skills, including the analysis of research problems, formulating hypotheses, selection of research methods, development and presentation of results to the extent necessary to participate in scientific discussions and prepare one's own scientific works in the field of Romance philology K_U02);
5. can apply in-depth knowledge of literary studies (K_U12);
6. is ready to critically assess one's own knowledge and skills, as well as to modify and correct attitudes and behaviors (K_K01),
Assessment criteria
- Continuous assessment on the basis of participation in classes (permissible 2 absences, participation in the discussion),
- paper,
- oral test at the end of the semester.
The form and criteria for passing the course may change depending on the current epidemic threat. Equivalent credit conditions will be established in accordance with the guidelines in force at the University of Warsaw, in consultation with the participants of the classes.
