„Disguise in French theatre (XVII i XVIII w)” 3304-1DZXW-KL-005
The class is designed to acquaint students with selected French plays of baroque, classicism and enlightenment eras. Disguise is the proposed key for play selection. We will look at types of disguise, reasons for characters to wear costumes and effects caused by disguise. We will discuss plays in a broader context of the era when they were created. The curriculum and proposed titles will be presented at the beginning of the course.

K_W01 The student knows and understands to an advanced degree the place and importance of literary studies, in particular the specificity of 17th and 18th century literature.

K_U06 Students are able to prepare a written thesis in French, referring to the basic theoretical approaches specific to literary studies.

K_K04 The student is ready to take care of the cultural heritage, especially in relation to French and Francophone culture

Assessment criteria
Active participation in class
Written work, 2 tests, oral credit in session.
Attendance compulsory, above 4 absences additional work may apply.
