Selected aspects of the general language - French of the four sides of the world: literary French of the Francophone area 3304-1DZ3O-PNJF-JO06
Francophonie is a term referring to countries and areas where the French language is present in many facets of social as well as individual life. Depending on the perspective adopted, it can be a marker of the history of a given area, the cultural development of a given society, as well as an element of people's everyday life. The geopolitical, social and practical dimensions of this presence are perfectly visible in literary texts created in these areas. The aim of the course will be to introduce students to these issues and to familiarise them with the specificity of French outside France.
The classes will be based partly on the analysis of literary texts, and partly on other authentic materials presenting current socio-cultural issues of French-speaking areas.
