Selected works of French literature of 17th/18th century and their historical and literary context. 3304-1DZ1W-KL-011
The aim of the seminar is to present and analyse several French literary works written in the 17th and 18th centuries. The proposed readings will include some of the most famous and acclaimed works by writers such as Molière, Racine, Voltaire and Marivaux, for example. The discussion will be preceded by an introduction on the historical and literary context, which will allow students to gain a better understanding of the literary history of both periods. The seminar facilitates preparation for the HLF XVII/XVIII w exam in the second year of study. The class is also intended to fundamentally prepare students for independent work on the text, its understanding and interpretation in the context of the period.
