The classes are intended to familiarize students with various trends in French (or Francophone) literature from across-sectional and interdisciplinary perspective.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should possess the following skills:
- know and understand selected terminology and selected topics in the field of general and French literary studies (K_W02, K_W05);
- be able to recognize, analyze, and interpret literary texts using appropriate terminology (K_U03);
- be able to present their own views, drawing on various sources and basic theoretical approaches, and argue their point of view (K_U04);
- be able to plan and prepare oral presentations in Polish, drawing on basic theoretical approaches relevant to literary studies (K_U05);
- be able to prepare a written paper in Polish, drawing on basic theoretical approaches relevant to literary studies (K_U06);
- be able to independently acquire knowledge and develop skills using various sources (K_U09);
- be ready to critically evaluate one's own knowledge and skills (K_K01).
Assessment criteria
– mandatory attendance (2 absences permitted),
– knowledge of the assigned readings,
– participation in class discussions,
– paper-presentation,
– possible written tests during the semester,
– Oral assessment during the exam session.
