French in practice – Integrated Competences 3304-1DP1O-PNKZ-018
The course focuses primarily on listening to and reading the texts in the textbook, as well as supplementary materials from sources such as the TV5 Monde website or rfi.fr (A1 level). Based on the content heard or read, students formulate short utterances using the vocabulary and grammar covered. In the first stage, these are mainly repetition exercises; subsequently, students learn to respond appropriately to the communication situations presented; and in the final stage, they attempt to create short dialogue scenes and interactions independently.

Learning outcomes
After the first semester of study, the student:
- knows selected elements of everyday life of the French, (K_U03, K_K04)
- can communicate in basic communication situations from everyday life and express his/her
own opinions, (K_W07, K_U04)
- understands short oral and written speech, (K_W09)
- creates a short-written statement (K_U06)
- copes with conversations using learned simple phrases and expressions and applying basic
grammar rules, (K_W08)
- uses various methods of work, including project work, group work (K_U10)
Assessment criteria
The criteria for passing the course are:
- attendance;
- regular independent study by the student based on materials covered in class or provided electronically for self-study;
- active participation in classes;
- positive results in mid-term tests and written assignments (the pass mark is 60% of the marks) and (if set) homework assignments and projects.
