Practical German 3302-2PN2-Z
The aim of the course is to familiarise second-year Master’s students with a selected specialist language. Students can choose from specialisations covering a range of topics and fields.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge: graduates know and understand:
- the economic, legal, ethical and other factors affecting various professional activities related to their field of study, including the principles of intellectual property protection and copyright law, as well as the need to manage intellectual property assets (K_W03)
- the fundamental dilemmas of modern civilisation, with particular reference to the German-speaking world (K_W08)
Skills: graduates are able to:
- apply the acquired language skills in understanding and producing spoken and written texts using specialist terminology (K_U03)
- lead a team, collaborate with others in teamwork, and take on a leading role within teams (K_U06)
- use the German language at a minimum C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (K_U05)
Social competences: the graduate is ready to:
- respect professional ethics, including principles relating to the protection of intellectual property and copyright, and to act to ensure compliance with these principles (K_K03)
- critically evaluate their knowledge and the content they receive, recognising the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems (K_K05)
Assessment criteria
To pass the semester, students must meet all the requirements set by the lecturer of the relevant group, including, in particular, the successful completion of written and oral assignments (e.g. project work, presentations, tests) carried out during classes throughout the semester. Furthermore, attendance at classes and active participation in them are prerequisites for passing the semester. Passing the course covers the skills specific to the subject.
NOTES
1) A doctor’s note does not exempt students from mastering the course material. It only entitles them to an individualised form of assessment.
2) Students who have been granted permission for an individual study programme are required to contact the course lecturer to determine how all the learning outcomes assigned to the course will be achieved. If it is not possible to achieve the aforementioned learning outcomes, the lecturer may refuse to award credit for the course.
