Application of Psychology and Pedagogy in Glottodidactics 1. – the Third and Fourth Stage of Education 3302-2APP1s1-Z
This course in the form of seminar is dedicated to the students of German Studies in the first year of master studies.
The following topics will be discussed in the course of the seminar:
1. The development of an adolescent student. Physical, motor, psychosexual, cognitive, socioemotional, moral development of an individual. The physical and mental changes through puberty. Physical, social and emotional maturity. Identity formation. Adulthood. Identification with new social roles. The formation of lifestyle.
2. Social interactions of a student. Peer group. Social status of a student in the peer group. The significance of peer group. Companionship, friendship, partnership and love. Conflicts with peers, parents and class teachers. The role of authority. The change of authorities. The crisis of teachers’ and parents’ authority. Teenage rebellion and its functions. Risky behaviour such as: aggression, acts of violence, addictions, informal groups, sects. Teenage subcultures. Being different – social exclusion.
3. Stages of education. Changing schools, school adaptation, educational and career choices. Ambition and aspiration. Motivation.
4. Problems in adolescence. Mood disorders, depression. Behavioural problems.
