Swiss literature in French 3300-LF1-HEL-Z
List of (open) topics discussed: History and culture - Physical, mental and symbolic geography - Religious issues - From helvetism to the tourist industry - Literary institutions, most famous authors and most famous works available to the Polish reader.
The class will consist of a lecture introducing the historical, cultural and literary context, which will present the most important authors and selected works in an appropriate light. The second component will be a discussion of selected texts.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to use in-depth research skills, including the analysis of the work of other authors, synthesis of different ideas and views, selection of methods and construction of research tools, development and presentation of results, allowing for original solutions of complex problems in the field of science and scientific disciplines relevant to helvetology, in relation to issues raised and discussed in class.
Assessment criteria
During the evaluation of students' achievements the lecturer will take into account the following aspects:
- regular participation in classes - a sine qua non condition for passing. If this condition is not fulfilled, the student will not be given credit. Maximum 3 absences are allowed during a semester
- results of tests written during the semester - at least 2 tests on discussed issues and assigned readings are foreseen.
- students who are not prepared for classes 3 to 4 times will have their final grade lowered by 20%.
- The students who are not prepared for the classes 5 or more times will not receive a positive grade in the first period and will be asked to do additional work in order to get a credit.
- the students who are very active during the classes will get the mark increased by max 20%.
Bibliography
The reading list and bibliography for the course will be given to students by the teacher during the first meetings.
