Comparative studies in culture 3300-Kk-SFK-4-Z
The starting point for the considerations is the genesis of the concept of 'comparative studies', research schools, representatives, tendencies and groundbreaking works. The lecture also focuses on a synthetic presentation of the mutual connections between individual fields of culture and science. The course discusses such issues as main tendencies, study centers, artists, works and their comparative analysis.

K_W06 The student has the knowledge and understanding of the methods of analysis and the diversity of interpretation techniques of various texts of literature and culture.

K_W08 The student has the knowledge and understanding of the multifaceted relations of German literature to historic and cultural processes.
K_W09 The student has the advanced knowledge and understanding of selected events of German history, and important aspects and features of its culture.
K_U03 The student can recognise, analyse, and interpret various types of German cultural texts; can anchor them in the general historic-cultural context; can conduct their analysis with specialist terminology and adequate methods.
K_U04 The student can conduct an analysis and interpretation of literary and cultural texts from the perspective of comparative studies.
K_K03 The student can adopt and promote an attitude of openness towards different cultures in the spirit of tolerance and plurality.
K_K05 The student is ready to show respect and care for preserving German cultural heritage.
