Bachelor's degree seminar, preparation of diploma thesis 3224-D5SEMLIC
The seminar discusses the basic assumptions and requirements of the diploma theses (technical and substantive). During the classes, students gain knowledge necessary to independently choose a topic and write their diploma theses. The following issues are discussed: the essence of library inquiries, rules for creating footnotes and links, various ways of using sources, ways of entering quotes, basic rules for creating thematic outlines, rules for using digital technologies. Phases and the schedule of preparing and writing diploma thesis, practical aspects of the diploma theses, ways of avoiding errors, most often occurring in student work, etc. are analyzed.
As part of the seminar, students:
1. they gain skills to work with a work of culture (analysis, synthesis, use of fragments of a work for own work);
2. they collect and compile a bibliography;
3. they develop a plan for diploma thesis;
4. they master the technique of writing academic work (creating a list of things, links);
5. they gain the ability to write academic texts (proper text preparation, proper structure and division);
6. they are preparing to defend their work
Student workload:
Participation in classes in the room - 60 hours. (2 ECTS)
Preparation for classes - 30 hours (1 ECTS)
Collecting materials and writing a job - 360 hours (12 ECTS)
Preparation for the Bachelor's exam - 30 hours (1 ECTS)

Assessment criteria
Classified /Unclassified assessment based on the presented chapter of the BA thesis (first semester) and based on the submitted thesis (second semester).

Literature determined during the course, adapted to the subject matter.
