During the course, elements of presentation building will be discussed, with particular emphasis on oratory and voice-producing elements. Strong emphasis is placed on students' independent work, initiative, and diligence in seeking out relevant sources.
The following topics will be discussed during the classes:
1. Principles of creating effective substantive content.
2. Slide design and the use of multimedia.
3. Public speaking techniques.
4. Presentation structure.
5.Audience interaction and non-verbal communication.
6. The use of modern tools and technologies.
7. Language culture and etiquette in academia.

Knowledge: the graduate knows and understands:
- the complex nature of language, with particular emphasis on the cultural context of the countries of the region (K_W09).
Skills: the graduate is able to:
- search for, select, analyze, and use the information needed from various sources (K_U01)
- communicate using various channels and communication techniques, including translation techniques, in Polish and a foreign language with specialists on issues related to cultural studies, literary studies, linguistics, and history of the countries of the region (K_U07)
- independently prepare written and oral statements in Polish and a foreign language, and present the results of their work to a group (K_U08)
- use at least two foreign languages at a minimum level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (K_U09)
- plan and organize individual and team work, and plan and carry out the process of independent knowledge acquisition, including specialist knowledge, after completing their studies (K_U10).
Social competences: the graduate is ready to:
- critically evaluate their own knowledge, engage in continuous learning, and supplement the knowledge acquired (K_K01)
- communicate effectively and function in society, including societies culturally different from their own, undertake teamwork, cope with typical professional situations, verify their views through substantive discussion, and assess their own knowledge (K_K02).
Assessment criteria
In order to obtain a positive grade for the semester, students must prepare project-presentation (70%) on a selected topic and demonstrate active participation during classes (30%).

99 – 100% - 5 (excellent)
93 - 98% - 5 (very good)
87 - 92% - 4,5 (fairly good)
77 - 86% - 4 (good)
71 - 76% - 3,5 (satisfactory plus)
60 - 70% - 3 (satisfactory)
