The content of the subject concerns formal, legal and substantive aspects necessary to prepare the MA thesis. As part of the seminar, students are introduced to the requirements for the master's thesis and information about the seminar's function in the process of its preparation. The substantive requirements for master's theses are discussed: formulation of a scientific problem, method of conducting analyzes, collection and use of the state of research on the subject raised in the thesis, drawing up footnotes and bibliography.
The substantive content of the subject basically depends on the subjects of theses. Methods of implementation are the student's own work and consultations with the thesis supervisor related, among others with: determining the topic and work plan, and monitoring the implementation of preliminary studies. Subject content leads to the development of research skills.
If it is not possible to conduct classes on university premises, classes
shall be held with the aid of distance learning tools, most likely Google
Meet and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.

The student can
properly choose sources and information derived from them, make creative interpretation and presentation of information in the field of Ukrainian literature (K2_U02)
apply appropriate methods and research tools in the field of Ukrainian literature (K2_U04)
formulate and test hypotheses related to research in the field of Ukrainian literature (K2_U06)
The student is ready to
critical assessment of knowledge and received content (K2_K01)
thinking and acting in an entrepreneurial manner and initiating actions for the public interest or the social environment (K2_K02)
Assessment criteria
Conditions for admission to final credit:
- continuous assessment, i.e. active participation in classes - 50%
- systematic preparation of given material for classes - 50%
The condition of admission to pass the course is attendance (in accordance with the Rules of Studies at the University of Warsaw)
The student has the right to two unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires submission of justification. The lecturer decides about the recognition of the absence.
The form of getting credit for classes during which the student was absent is determined by the lecturer.
Exceeding the absence of excused and unexcused absences for 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the subject.
Credit after approval of the topic and work plan as well as initial research.
The conditions for passing the correction are the same as those for passing the first date (information above).
