Master's Seminar IV is designed to prepare students to submit a finished thesis.
The successive stages of thesis writing are discussed.
During the course, students acquire the knowledge necessary for independent selection . The phases and timetable of the preparation, development and writing of the thesis, the practical aspects of the thesis and the problems arising in the course of the students' research are analysed on an ongoing basis.

Writing the Master's thesis - 1 ECTS
A total of 60 hours (2 ECTS)
If it is not possible to conduct classes in a stationary form, classes will be held using communication tools at a
distance communication tools recommended by the University of Warsaw (Zoom, Google Classroom).

The student knows and understands:
- in a deeper degree the terminology and methodology of linguistic/literary studies K2_W01/ K2_W02
- in a deeper degree the relations of philological research and its complex relations with other scientific disciplines K2_W03
- in-depth psychological basis of language functioning K2_W04
- spoken and written Ukrainian language in line with the requirements specified for level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages K2_W08
- basic notions and principles of intellectual property protection and copyright K2_W10
student is able to:
- correctly select sources and information from them, make a
- critical analysis, creative interpretation and presentation of information on

- apply appropriate methods and research tools in the field of Ukrainian linguistics/literature K2_U03/ K2_U04
- formulate and test hypotheses related to research in the field of Ukrainian linguistics/literature K2_U05/ K2_U06
- communicate on specialised topics with a diverse range of

the student is ready to:
- critically evaluate his/her knowledge and received content K2_K01
- think and act in an entrepreneurial way, and initiate actions for the benefit of the public interest or the social environment K2_K02
Assessment criteria
Course requirements:
- Attendance and preparation for classes, i.e. presentation of the successive stages of the thesis (literature study, data collection
illustration, etc.)
- presentation of one's own progress in writing the thesis in the form of statements, presentation and discussion of parts of the thesis; possible speeches
at conferences (e.g. student conferences).
Students are entitled to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent absence requires the submission of an excuse. Recognition of absence is decided by the lecturer.
The form of credit for classes in which the student has been absent - making up on duty.
Exceeding excused and unexcused absences in 50% of classes may be the basis for failing a course.
A prerequisite for passing is submission of the diploma thesis.
Bibliography
Literature is selected individually depending on the choice of thesis topics.
