(in Polish) Seminarium magisterskie III 3222-54INT3S-N
The seminar discusses issues related to choosing a thesis topic, the rules for writing a scientific paper, and the formal aspects of writing a paper. The structure of language, linguistic units and levels, and literary issues are examined in depth. Mastering the methods and directions of linguistics helps students understand the relationships between the elements and levels of the language system as an organised system. The topics of the classes include theoretical and applied linguistics, synchronous and diachronic linguistics. Students writing theses in the field of literary studies learn methods of using knowledge about the structure of literary texts and their elements (such as plot, topoi and themes, character construction, narrative type, genre convention) in their own analyses of selected texts. At the same time, students prepare to submit their entire bachelor's thesis.
Student workload:
30 hours in the classroom – 1 ECTS
180 hours – writing a thesis – 6 ECTS
Total: 7 ECTS
If it is not possible to conduct classes in a stationary form, classes will be held using remote communication tools, most likely Google Meet and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.
