Classes in practical English (30 hours per semester) are designed to help students master writing, reading, listening and speaking skills in English at C1 / C2 level. The content of teaching is subordinated to the assumption of meetingthe students' cognitive and communicative needs and their intentions related to acquiring qualifications necessary for the future profession.
The priority is to prepare future graduates for the needs of the labor market, motivated by linguistic competence.
The aim of the course is to develop the following language competences: listening comprehension; learning vocabulary ; developing the ability to independently create complex statements in English; developing speaking skills, the aim of which is to communicate fluently; grammar.
Student's workload: The numbers of hours that a student should devote to achieving the learning outcomes defined for the subject include: • organized hours - 30 hours in the classroomroom, 2 hours per week = 1 ECTS; • student's indiwidual work - 45 hours of preparation for classes and 15 hours of exam preparation = 2 ECTS Total 90 hours

Assessment criteria
The final grade consists of:
continuous assessment, shaping:
- control and translation tests - 25%
- group and individual presentations - 25%
- final exam grade - 50%
The final exam consists of the written part:
the evaluation criteria are presented in the form of percentage thresholds:
60% - 68% - 3 (satisfactory)
69% - 77% - 3+ (satisfactory plus)
78% - 86% - 4 (good)
87% - 93% - 4+ (good plus)
94% - 98% - 5 (very good)
99% -100% - 5! (Very good rating with an exclamation mark)
condition for being admitted to pass the course / to be allowed to pass the final exam:
The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires a justification. The lecturer decides whether to acknowledge the absence.
The form of crediting the classes in which the student was absent is determined by the lecturer.
Exceeding justified and unjustified absences for 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the course.
