Learning the Ukrainian language 3222-50NJU3C-N
The content of teaching is subordinated to the assumption of opening to cognitive and communication needs of students and their intentions related to the qualifications necessary to perform a future profession or functioning in the country whose language they study, as well as preparing graduates for the needs of the labor market.
The aim of the course is to master the Ukrainian language to the extent that allows fluent communication in various situations of social life, training their skills in listening, speaking, writing and expanding language skills:
1. a perfect understanding of written and spoken texts about a high level of difficulty and various subjects
2. expressing content learned during classes in text or auditory form, in a grammatically correct expression of oral and written (submitted);
3. expressing your own opinion; communicating in various social situations;
4. conduct conversation on various topics;
5. translations and editing of texts from / to Ukrainian
6. writing works in Ukrainian - diverse in stylistic and thematic aspects;
7. knowledge of the rules of grammar provides: the ability to build correct grammatically and stylistically spoken and written statements and to care for the culture of language.
The classes use the press, journalistic and literary texts, Internet resources, films and radio and television programs.
Student workload:
About 150 hours
organized hours - 4 hours per week x 1 semester = 60 hours contact
student's independent work (current preparation for classes, partial work) - about 60 hours
preparation for the exam - 30 hours

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
- knows, to a greater extent, the key issues related to the development of modern Ukrainian language, including the psychological foundations of its functioning
- knows in depth the technique of translation
- knows language in accordance with the requirements specified for almost C2 CEOK levels

- can communicate and debate on a variety of topics, including specialist, implemented during classes
- can communicate in speech and in writing in language
Ukrainian in accordance with the requirements specified for C2 CEOK levels
3. social competences:
- is ready to critically evaluate your knowledge and content you receive.

Credit conditions for the subject and admission to the final exam:
- continuous, shaping evaluation (control of current preparation)
- completion of mid-term work
Final mark contains 30% of work and 70% exam.
Criteria for the assessment of the final written exam
60% - 68% - 3 (satisfactory)
69% - 77% - 3+ (rated satisfactory plus)
78% - 86% - 4 (good)
86% - 91% - 4+ (good plus)
92% - 97% - 5 (very good)
98% -100% - 5! (very good with an exclamation mark)
The condition for admission to the final exam is also attendance.
Student can sit an exam for the second time in second session. The exam has the same form and condition as during first time.
The student has the right to 2 absences for each 30 h. If there are more than 2, including the justified, the student should ask the lecturer to determine the form of credit for the course material.
Exceeding missed and unjusted absences by 50% of classes is the basis for failure to credit the subject.
