- language influences
The aim of the subject is to teach ways of analyzing dialects, ways of making and analyzing texts from different dialect areas.
It shows the meaning of dialectology to linguistics.
The estimated total number of hours that a student will need to achieve the learning outcomes defined for the course:
organised hours - 2 hours a week = 30 hours
student's individual work - 30 hours
If it is not possible to conduct classes on university premises, classes
shall be held with the aid of distance learning tools, most likely Google
Meet and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.

At the end of the course students have the following skills
1. knowledge
- main issues of developement and functioning of contemporary Ukrainian language essepecially concerning dialect (K2_W06)
2. skills:
- choose sources and information, analyse, interpretation and presenting information (K2_U01)
- using proper methods of surveys (K2_U03)
- formulate and test hipotesis of Ukrainian language (K2_U05)
- dispute on specific themes (K2_U08)
- plan and realise lifelong learning (K2_U11)
- assets knowlegde (K2_K01)
Assessment criteria
Student can take the final exam if (elements of marking):
- constant assessment (participation, activity during classes, project on text analyse) - 30%
- exam - 70%
Exam results:
60% - 68% - 3 (satisfactory)
69% - 77% - 3+ (rated satisfactory plus)
78% - 86% - 4 (good)
87% - 91% - 4+ (good plus)
92% - 97% - 5 (very good)
98% -100% - 5! (Very good with an exclamation mark)
Student can sit an exam for the second time in second session. The exam has the same form and condition as during first time.
Attendance at classes is mandatory. The student is entitled to 2 unexcused absences. Each additional absence requires the student to submit justification.
If the total number of unexcused and excused absences is more than half of the total number of class hours, this could be the basis for failure of the course.
