Ukrainian language in the media 3222-35JUM3K-N
The course is conducted in the form of a seminar. Its aim is to equip students with the ability to use Ukrainian vocabulary related to the broadly defined field of media and to become familiar with the distinctive features of media texts. The classes are dedicated to the analysis of media texts and the content conveyed through them, including topics related to Ukraine.
A central focus of the course is the analysis of the structure of monologues in public debates (in the context of spoken texts) as well as columns and interviews (in the context of written texts). Special attention will be given to so-called new media and the issue of disinformation.
Students will be tasked with expressing their own opinion on a current topic discussed in the media, supported by well-founded arguments.
