Aspects of Contemporary Ukraine 3222-30WU1K-N
The classes will discuss the basic issues concerning Ukraine: its location, administrative division, state system, and natural resources.
In addition, the topic of Ukrainian identity, its complexity and influence on the current situation in the country will be discussed. A separate thematic block will be the religious situation, especially the division of Catholic and Orthodox churches, differences between particular rites, relations between the faithful and recent events in the wake of the Orthodox Church. During the course, the topic of contemporary Ukrainian art, its relation to issues of national identity and local traditions will also be addressed. Finally, analyzed issues related to contemporary myths and national stereotypes.

30 hours in the room - 1 ECTS
60 hours - ongoing preparation, homework, reading, preparation to pass - 2 ECTS
If it is not possible to conduct classes in a stationary form, classes will take place using distance communication tools, most likely Google Meet and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.

Written test - evaluation criteria:
60% - 68% - 3 (satisfactory)
69% - 77% - 3+ (rated satisfactory plus)
78% - 85% - 4 (good)
86% - 89% - 4+ (good plus)
90% - 96% - 5 (very good)
97% -100% - 5! (Very good with an exclamation mark)
he student has the right to take the exam in the retake session in the same form as in the basic session and on condition of obtaining credit for the subject.
