Practical learning of the Russian language 3222-30PR5C-NZF
The teaching content is subordinated to the assumption of being open to the cognitive and communication needs of students and to their intentions related to the opportunities to acquire the qualifications necessary to pursue a future profession or to function in the country whose language they study. According to the information above, the classes include a series of practical exercises focused on basic communication situations through which students acquire vocabulary and grammar rules of the language.
The aim of the course is also to train skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and to acquire and expand students' language competences in the areas of:
1. general understanding of written and spoken texts of varying levels of difficulty
3. expressing the content learned in class in text or auditory form, in grammatically correct oral and written (complex) speech
4. expressing own opinion using the lexical resource and information obtained during classes;
5. conducting conversations on topics taken from everyday life and in everyday situations, as well as the ability to prepare statements on more difficult topics (active participation in discussion, debate etc.)
Knowledge of grammar rules provides: the ability to build grammatically correct sentences; ability to correctly solve grammar and grammar and vocabulary exercises.
Student workload:
Contact hours (in the room or online) - 30 hours - 1 ECTS
preparation for classes - 15 hours - 0.5 ECTS
Preparation for the exam - 15 hours. - 0.5 ECTS

Learning outcomes
After completing semester, the student:
- knows and understands the Russian language in speech and writing in accordance with the requirements specified for the B1+ level of the European System for the Description of Languages Education (K1_W12);
- is able to communicate in speech and writing in Russian in accordance with the requirements specified for the B1+ level of the European Description System (K1-U14).
Assessment criteria
2 unexcused absences and 3 missing homework are allowed. If these limits are exceeded, the student also takes an oral pass.Conditions for passing the subject and admission to the final pass test:
- current preparation control;
- passing control tests and translation tests;
- passing group and individual projects.
The final exam is a written exam.
The evaluation criteria are presented in the form of percentage thresholds (points conversion):
99-100% - 5! (Very good with an exclamation mark)
93- 98% - 5 (very good)
87-92% - 4+ (good plus)
77-86% - 4 (good)
70-76% - 3+ (satisfactory plus)
60-69% - 3 (satisfactory)
The final grade consists of: average grade for mid-term papers (30%) and final written test (70%).
The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires an excuse. The student's attendance is confirmed by the signature on the list.
The student has the right to take the exam in the retake session in the same form as in the basic session and on condition of obtaining credit for the subject.
Exceeding the absence of excused and unexcused absences for 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the subject.
