Practical English course - tourism language 3222-30PNJAT4C-NZ
Students become familiar with the terminology of tourism including cultural aspects thereof to be able to communicate in speaking and writing in situations typical for tourism branch of B2/B2+ level.
The student gets acquainted with the following lexis domains: airport facilities, security procedures at the airport, guide job, gastronomy, trends in tourism.

Self-study – 7 hours-preparation for classes, 8 hours- preparation for pass

Assessment criteria
Requirements to be met to be given a pass:
- attendance
- preparation for lessons
- tests
- individual presentations
The final mark is:
- 10% continuous assessment (preparation for lessons, participation in lessons)
- 50% tests
- 40% individual presentations
Assessment criteria (percentage):
60% – 68% - 3
69% - 77% - 3+
78% - 86% - 4
87% - 95% - 4+
96% - 98 % - 5
99% -100% - 5 !
The student is entitled to 1 unexcused absence.
The lecturer decides on the manner of catching up with the material discussed during the classes a student has not attended.
In the event of failing to pass the course by the last class of the semester, the student must pass the course and get a mark during the initial exam period or the retake exam period.
