RUSSIAN LANGUAGE IN THE FIELD OF ECONOMICS AND FINANCE I 3202-S2ONJR21e
Classes are devoted to the acquisition by students of knowledge in the field of the topics described below and the formation of productive and receptive skills in the framework of business discourse.
Topics of classes:
1. Main features of business communication (general characteristics, cultural and pragmatic properties, strategies and tactics used) - 4 hours.
2. Promoting of goods and services on the modern market (types of marketing, public relations, sales promotion, advertising) - 24 hours.
3. Foreign trade transactions (types of prices and forms of payment, types of packaging and transport, basic delivery terms, in accordance with Incoterms rules) - 24 hours
4. Trade negotiations. Terms of transaction. Main business documents (bill, invoice, customs declaration, bill of lading, certificate of quality, certificate of origin, certificate of conformity). - 6 hours.
3. Business correspondence (standard and elements of an official letter, inquiry, binding offer, complaint, response to complaint) - 24 hours.
4. Commercial contract (contract chapters, preparation and translation of parts of the contract) - 4 hours.
5. Taxes (tax law, types of taxes in Russia and Poland) - 4 hours.

Knowledge
The student:
1. knows and understands the main features of Russian business communications (general characteristics, cultural and pragmatic properties, strategies and tactics used during negotiations);
2. knows and understands the structure and the functioning of the modern market, marketing strategies, advertising and methods of sales promotion, the basics of tax law;
3. knows and understands the rules of foreign trade (trade deals, types of prices, payment methods, types of packaging, terms of delivery, types of insurance).
4. knows and understands the rules of editing of business letters and commercial contracts.
Skills
The student:
1. is able to recognize and analyse various Russian texts on economic topics, including the content of contracts and agreements regarding international economic cooperation;
2. is able to conduct business negotiations including the details of foreign transactions, using communication strategies and tactics appropriate for business communication;
3. knows and understands the rules of editing of business letters and commercial contracts.
Social competences
The student:
1. is ready to expand the knowledge and skills in business communication in contemporary social life;
2. is ready to accept the value of business language and business communication for the Russian philologist, is aware of the existence of an ethical dimension in contemporary business relations and the moral imperative of compliance with them
Assessment criteria
Assessment of the course:
- presence and active participation in classes
- systematic preparation of given material for classes
- timely performance of housework and control work
- active participation in the preparation of presentations and projects
The following criteria apply to the credits:
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes covering all relevant aspects - 5.0 (very good)
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes covering all significant aspects with a small number of errors or inaccuracies - 4.5 (good plus)
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes without some (less important) aspects - 4.0 (good)
- achieving the intended learning outcomes without taking into account some important aspects and with material inaccuracies - 3.5 (satisfactory grade plus)
- achieving the intended learning outcomes without taking into account relevant aspects or with serious inaccuracies - 3.0 (satisfactory)
- no achievement of the intended learning outcomes - 2.0 (unsatisfactory)
Assessment components:
- continuous assessment (the current preparation for classes and activities) - 30%;
- control tests during the semester - 35%
- presentations, speeches, project - 35%
Criteria for assessing written statements:
a / compliance of the statement with the subject,
b / compliance of the statement with the required form,
c / use of specialized vocabulary consistent with the topic,
d / linguistic correctness
Criteria for assessing oral expression:
a / communication effectiveness (the student communicates very effectively and correctly, with high fluency, uses interaction strategies and rhetorical conventions efficiently)
b / fluency and coherence of speech, phonetic correctness
c / correct use of grammatical structures (full or almost full)
d / proper and rich selection of vocabulary consistent with the topic
e / stylistic relevance (appropriate register in the use of vocabulary and syntactic structures)
The exam consists of a written and oral parts:
- written part (test consisting of tasks for translation, preparation of business letters and essays).
Criteria:
knowledge of grammar structures, specialist vocabulary and spelling
test - 60% - 68% - 3 (satisfactory)
69% - 77% - 3+ (satisfactory plus)
78% - 86% - 4 (good)
87% - 95% - 4+ (good plus)
96% - 100% - 5 (very good)
- oral part (2 questions)
Criteria:

The condition of passing the exam is obtaining a positive grade in the written and oral part.
The student has the right to two unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires an excuse. The lecturer decides about the recognition of the absence.
Exceeding the absence of justified and unexcused absences for 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the subject. The conditions for passing the subject on the correction date are the same as on the normal date.
If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using distance communication tools, most likely Google Classroom and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.
Practical placement
No professional training within the subject.
