Russian language in social and cultural space I 3202-S1SLRSK31z
The subject of considerations is the relationship between Russian language and socjety as well as broadly understood culture. The aim of the seminar is to introduce students to the research methodology used in research on lingusitic data. Students will familiarise themselves with the relevant literature, which will enable them to prepare their ownresearch and present it in their BA thesis.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
– students are acquainted with selected linguistic works in the field covered by his bachelor’s thesis,
– students have organised knowledge on the Russian language,
– students have the knowledge of basic methodologies of lingusitic research,
− student knows the rules of the editing of scientific texts in Russian and Polish,
− the student knows the rules of copyright.
Skills:
− the student presents his circle of scientific interests associated with the Bachelor's seminar profile,
− the student perceives by himself the problem of research and makes the initial formulation of the thesis,
− the student can find using a variety of sources and methods informations on the topic of his thesis,
– the student can write a summary of a linguistic work.
– the student possesses detailed research abilities in the analysis and interpretation of the literary works.
– the student uses basic terminology from the field of linguistics
− the student is able to charaterize the genezis and value of
discussed issues,
– the student has an ability to work systematically.
– the student is able to clearly and precisely formulate his/her thoughts.
Social competences:
− the student understands the specifics of linguistic studies,
− the student is able to adequately define the priorities for the task,
− the student has a deeper awareness of his knowledge and skills, and feels the need to further learning.
Assessment criteria
1. continuous evaluation (constant preparation for the
classes and attendance) – 30%
2. compilation the plan, bibliography and one chapter of the
BA thesis – 70%
The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires justification. The lecturer decides on the recognition of absence. Exceeding excused and unexcused absences by 50% of classes may be grounds to fail the course. The conditions for passing the course on the resit exam are the same as on the ordinary of exam.
If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using distance communication tools, most likely Google Classroom and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.
