Lexical topics:
1. Linguistic image of the world on the examples of selected concepts of the Russian language.
2. Theatre in Russia - selected issues (dramatic genres, theatre performances, Russian folk and dramatic theatre, opera and ballet theatre, Polish-Russian theatre unions).
3. Russian music - selected issues (Russian folk songs, Russian romance, opera and ballet music, Russian band, famous songs and performers, Russian youth music in the light of world trends).
4. Russian cinematography - selected issues (film genres, outstanding Russian directors and their films, the place of Russian cinema in global cinematography, Polish-Russian unions in the field of cinematography).
5. Radio, television, the press. The discussion of selected radio, TV programs and newspaper articles.
Grammer material:
1.Participles in Russian and Polish languages; the function of full forms of Russian participles; the function of short forms of Russian participles.
2. Attributive relative clauses. The position of the word który in subordinate attributive clause.
3. Adverbial participle constructions and their Polish equivalents; the syntactic functions of adverbial participle constructions; the equivalents of complex subordinate sentences, stylistic limitations when using these constructions.

1. The student has a well-ordered and extended knowledge concerning specific facts of Russian culture as well as their reflection in the language structures
2. The student knows linguistic rules and customs (usus) enabling him/her to formulate both oral and written complex statements on the subjects expected by the program
3. The student knows and understands the similarities and differences between Polish and Russian culture
SKILLS
1. The student can effectively and freely communicate in social, educational and professional contacts, formulating clear, well-structured, detailed oral and written statements on a wide range of issues
2. The student can understand not only the basic message, but also hidden implication and meaning while communicating with the native speaker
3. The student can skilfully compare foreign and native culture, get new cultural content in order, manage in new situations of intercultural communication

Assessment criteria
Assessment of the course:
- presence and active participation in classes,
- systematic preparation for the assigned material,
- preparing homeworks and control works on time,
- active participation in preparation for presentations, speeches, projects.
In order to obtain a credit the following criteria are taken into account:
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes covering all relevant aspects - 5,0 (very good grade)
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes covering all relevant aspects with a small number of errors or inaccuracies - 4,5 (good plus)
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes not taking into account some (less important) aspects - 4,0 (good grade)
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes, omitting some important aspects and with significant inaccuracies - 3,5 (satisfactory plus)
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes, omitting important aspects or with serious inaccuracies - 3,0 (satisfactory)
- no achievement of the assumed learning outcomes - 2,0 (unsatisfactory)
The components of assessment:
- continuous assessment (the current preparation for classes and activities) - 30%
- control tests during the semester - 35%
- presentations, speeches, projects – 35%
Criteria for the assessment of written statement:
a/ compliance of the statements with the topic,
b/ compliance of the statement with the required form,
c/ composition,
d/ the length of work,
e/ richness of vocabulary,
f/ linguistic correctness.
Criteria for the assessment of oral statement:
a/ communicative efficiency (the student communicates effectively and correctly, with fluency, uses efficient interaction strategies and rhetorical conventions),
b/ fluency and cohesion of speech, phonetic correctness,
c/ correct usage of grammatical structures (full or almost full),
d/ proper and rich selection of vocabulary consistent with the topic.
The final exam includes the material of V and VI semester. The final exam consists of written and oral parts:
- written part (test - 4 grammar and lexical tasks placed in the story + summary of the text traslated into Russian with the length of approximately 1200 characters + essay for choice on one from three given topics)
criteria:
knowledge of grammatical, vocabulary and spelling structures:
test – 60% – 68% - 3 (satisfactory)
69% - 77% - 3+ (satisfactory plus)
78% - 86% - 4 (good)
87% - 95% - 4+ (good plus)
96% - 100% - 5 (very good)
essay/criteria:
a/ compliance with the topic,
b/ cohesion of the text
c/ lexical, grammatical and spelling correctness
- oral part (2 questions)/criteria:
a/ communicative efficiency (the student communicates effectively and correctly, with fluency, uses efficient interaction strategies and rhetorical conventions),
b/ fluency and cohesion of speech, phonetic correctness,
c/ correct usage of grammatical structures (full or almost full),
d/ proper and rich selection of vocabulary consistent with the topic
The condition for passing the exam is passing its written and oral parts.
The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires justification. The lecturer decides on the recognition of absence. Exceeding excused and unexcused absences by 50% of classes may be grounds to fail the course.
If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using distance communication tools, most likely Google Classroom and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.
Practical placement
No professional training within the subject.
