Old Church Slavonic 3202-1DZCS2O
Course is dedicated to fallowing problems: the origin of Old Church Slavonic, activity of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Writing and literature. Old Church Slavonic in comparison with other slavic languages. The realation between Old Church Slavonic and pre-slavic language. The characteristic of phonetics of the early pre-slavic community. The characteristic of phonetics of the late pre-slavic community. The breakdown of the pr-slavic launguage community. Forming three groups of languages. The morphology: noun - characteristic, declension, pronoun - gender, declension, adjective - characteristic, decelnsion, comparison, number - declension, verb - characeristic, tenses, conjugation, present tense, imperative, particple, futura; perfectum; plusquamperfectum; conditionalis; supinum.
Syntax: dativus absolutus; dativus cum infinitivo; accusativus cum infinitivo.

Learning outcomes
After finishing the course student can:
- reconstruct the condition of the preslavic phonetic
- read Old Church Slavonic texts with understanding
- analyse Old Church Slavonic texts towoards language aspect
-translate Old Church Slavonic texts in to polish or russian language
- in russian texts recognise Old Church Slavonic words
- compare the phonetic phenomena to corresponding phenomena in polish and russian language
Assessment criteria
the presence is controlled. The effect are continously marked.
Written tests are carried out. Credit for a degree.
