Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, participants should possess a basic understanding of the nature of the legal order of the European Union as a supranational organization. They should be able to describe both the division of competences between the European Union and its Member States, as well as the institutional system of the Union, with particular emphasis on the competences of its key institutions. Knowledge of the sources of EU law and of the relationship between supranational law and Member States’ legal systems is also a key learning outcome.
Assessment criteria
The course assessment is based on the following criteria: (1) attendance (up to two unexcused absences are allowed), and (2) the results of short in-class quizzes conducted after each topic.
